Halil Altındere A Brief History Of My Last Three Years

Halil Altındere's exhibition " A Brief History Of My Last Three Years" at Pilot Gallery brings together the most recent evidence of anxiety regarding the current monumental wars of power, truth and imagination in Turkey and around the world through sculptures, videos, canvases and carpets. In his most recent works that were created in the last three years, Altındere critically juxtaposes the Hollwood science fiction epic of Star Wars, which legitimized multi-billion-dollar imperial colonialism with Eastern and Western narratives and the sources of power reflected from many star-filled civilization in Asia Minor. The artist, once again does not shy away from testing the legitimacy of popular culture, tradition and cross-border politics in his exhibition through the various mediums he employs.
