Sober Volume 2 Art or Not?

In 1980, Helmut Newton came across press images of gang members in a police station. These images gave him the idea of making a series of nudes of girls standing against a plain white background, wearing only high-heel shoes, with the lightest of make-up and their hair natural, without artifice: a series of anthropometric photographs, like police identity pictures. Among his Big Nude series, "Big Nude Ill" has become the undisputed iconic one. Forty-four years later, Sober offers a fresh take on Helmut Newton's unprecedented iconic image, creating an Al-generated reinterpretation of "Big Nude Ill" as the second issue's cover. Sober's Al-generated cover image raises several questions that captivate the culture we live in right now. Is Generative Al stealing from artists?
